Trojans look at JC receiver for 2004

The Trojans are looking at the possibility of bringing in WR Chris Brewer from Ventura College. Brewer (6-3, 210) was named All-American at Div 2 Ft Lewis College in Colorado in 2002 but wanted a shot at playing Div 1 football so he transferred to Ventura College prior to last season in the hopes of eventually moving to a Pac-10 school. Chris hurt his knee the week before the first game and was forced to miss the entire 2003 season.

He was originally scheduled to play for Ventura this season but wanted to have two years of eligibility at the Div 1 level so he began to research schools that would be a good fit. USC was one of the schools contacted recently by Ventura College coaches on behalf of Chris, the staff at Ventura liked the way Will Poole was treated while at USC, and there is a chance Chris could end up a Trojan this fall. Chris is taking summer school classes right now to make sure he would be academically eligible for USC if the offer comes his way.

Chris is described as being "fast, very fast" and he also catches the ball well. He is completely healthy right now.
