Recruit update: DL Tamba Hali

With over 50 scholarship offers, Tamba Hali, 6'4, 245 pound defensive end from Teaneck (NJ), has his pick of colleges. He's already taken two visits and has three more scheduled. So where do the Trojans stand?

Hali is just coming off a great year with 90 tackles, 8 sacks, and 4 forced fumbles for 7-3 Teaneck. The big defensive end is known for his speed, strength, and relentless pursuit of the quarterback. With skills like that, it's no wonder that he has received attention from schools across the country. He gets calls every week from top programs like Penn State, Syracuse, Maryland, Tennessee, Miami, and USC's own Coach Ed Orgeron.
"I visited USC and Syracuse, and I visit Maryland tomorrow." Remarked Hali. On the visit to USC, which he took the weekend of September 28th for the Stanford game, Hali noted that he had a great time and took part in a number of activities with his host, "My host was Alex Holmes. We went to parties, we toured the facilities,…we did a lot of things." He also stated that the distance from home didn't bother him and that it isn't a big factor in his decision.
Hali currently lists his favorites as "Penn State, Syracuse, USC, Miami, and Maryland." Although Hali has taken two trips and has seen his recruitment heat up, he still maintains the same leaders he's had all along, "I mean, I really like Syracuse and Penn State but I have to look at other schools though. Penn State, I went to a game there and I really like them, but I have to see other schools first."
The New Jersey star will visit Penn State on January 11 and Miami at an undetermined date after that. He said that he will not make a decision until he has taken both of those visits.
