Cary Harris lists USC in top 3

Sherman Oaks (Ca) CB Cary Harris (6-0, 180, 4.4) continues to deny a leader. However, "<a href="notre dame" onmouseover="window.status='Notre Dame'; return true;" onmouseout="window.status=''; return true;">Notre Dame</a>, USC and Cal lead pretty solidly over Washington State for me," says Harris, from Notre Dame HS.

"Notre Dame is in need of CBs and they have some great academics. Nothing really stands out to me about the defense there because everybody runs the same defense really…they just need some help there.

"I've got a friend on the tennis team at USC and he's told me some great things from his first-hand experience. I like how the coaches run the program there, they're all about business.

"I've went to Cal over the summer for a luncheon. I like how things are up there and the interest the coaches have been showing in me. They emphasize the importance of Cal's academic environment, and I like how they stress that.

"Washington State is not doing that good this year, but they need CBs there as well. They don't get as much notice as they should, and I think they're a really good program.

"UCLA has dropped out of my top five because things are just too shaky with that program. I mean, they don't even know how long the current coaching staff they have will stay there."

Harris has offers from all Pac-10 schools except Stanford. And other offers include both Nebraska and Duke.

He will officially visit Cal (11/20) and Notre Dame.
