Chris McFoy

Notable: Led team to CIF Division II championship game against Mission Viejo. He made All CIF as a junior and he's known for his crisp routes and great hands. Played for a team that primarily ran the ball and he drew praise for his blocking ability. He runs a 4.49 40 and also participates in track. Fully qualified.

Fred Matua

Notable: Fred is considered one of the top two way linemen in the country. A broken leg held him out most of the season but his strong performance in the CaliFlorida game and practices showed that he has the ability to be a dominant performer at the college level. He has a terrific motor and great work ethic in addition to an energy that has been lacking on the Trojans in recent years. Fred carries a 3.8 GPA and is also very involved in his local church. He credits Kennedy Pola as a major reason why he committed to USC.

Hershel Dennis

Notable: Three-year starter and MVP of the nationally ranked LB Poly football team and arguably the greatest running back in the school's remarkable history.  Was the 1st RB from LB Poly to go over 2,000 yards in a season when he did it last year. Reminds many USC fans of a young Marcus Allen with his vision and smooth running style. Very well rounded back who lacks a real weakness.  Always finishes runs by falling forward and has the strength to consistently move the pile.  A truly fearless ball carrier who runs with reckless abandon. Can catch the ball out of the backfield. Has a frame that should allow for more quality weight. 

Darnell Bing

Notable: Unmatched combination of size, speed (4.4 forty), and overall athleticism. Also a track star, participating in the 200, 400, triple and long jump at LB Poly HS.  Being recruited primarily at S, but may also play some RB on the college level.  Legendary Pop Warner ball carrier as a youth.  Widely recognized as a ruthless hitter.  Plays with a true mean streak, exploding into OL on occasion. The consensus top HS S prospect on the West Coast.  PacWestFootball rates him as the #1 DB in America, and as the #16 player overall. Ex-HS coach thinks he has the best chance to play professional football out of the LB Poly fab five. Rumored to be Pete Carroll's favorite recruit. 

Winston Justice

Notable: Some consider Winston the top OL prospect in the country with an ability to come in and contribute right away.  Led fans of many teams on a wild journey through the recruiting process but his talent is worth it as if he stays healthy there is an NFL future waiting for him.

Dominique Byrd

Notable: As a senior, he caught 62 passes for 1,236 yards and 25 TDs on a team that reached the Class 2A state semifinals. He was named 1st team all state and all metro as a WR and played in the US Army National All Star game as a LB. Was named All Conference in football, basketball and track.

Manuel Wright

Brandon Hance

Notable: Graduated early from Taft in spring 2000 to attend Purdue spring practice when Drew Brees was a senior. Earned the QB job after Brees graduated and started majority of the year before giving way to freshman Kyle Orton. Cited homesickness as one of the primary reasons for leaving Purdue as he never fully adjusted to life in the Midwest. As a senior at Taft he threw for 2,400 yards with 19 TD's and 9 picks and also rushed for over 490 yards. Had a 3.8 GPA and an 1,190 SAT and also runs a 4.7 40. Is training partners with top junior WR/DB Steve Smith from Taft. Brandon is known for his short passing accurary and his decision making.

Dallas Sartz

Notable: Known for his aggressive style of play and hard hitting. He was a safety at the High School level and could possibly play outside linebacker in college if he puts on some weight. He's also a standout on the special teams and participates in basketball and track. Runs a 4.6 40 and is fully qualified with a 3.5 GPA.  Father played at Oregon State.

Chris Doyle

Notable: Played tackle at Mater Dei but he will play center and guard at USC. He was a three year starter and is known for his technique, run blocking, and tremendous leg drive. He was All-State Underclass as a junior and he is friends with current Trojans and former Mater Dei players Matt Leinart, Matt Grootegoed, and Lenny Vandermade.

Oscar Lua

Notable: Got a lot of attention after having a huge senior year. He runs a 4.6 40 and is also a standout baseball player, hitting .481 and 13 home runs last year. He plans to play both sports at USC. His coach, Oviedo Machado, called him "a prototypical middle linebacker." Committed to the Trojans after their victory over Oregon State at the Coliseum. Fully qualified.

Mike Williams

Notable: One of the top "big" wide receivers in the country, Williams is a terrific athlete who really impressed Trojan OC Norm Chow during a recent visit to Florida when he saw him play a basketball game.  His HS QB is the brother in law of USC TE coach Lane Kiffin, who also recruited Williams.  Wants to be a receiver even though some schools recruited him as a TE. Also a top basketball player. 

Jason Mitchell

Name: Jason Mitchell

Notable: Prepped at North Torrance High with Devin Pitts. As a junior, racked up 933 receiving yards and caught six TD receptions. As a senior, caught 48 passes for 907 yards and eight TDs. Earned first team all Bay League as a senior and first team Daily Breeze all area as a junior and senior. Was recruited by UCLA, TAMU, and Utah among others as a prep. Also ran track in HS, earning all-league in the 100m and 200m. As a freshman at Harbor JC, caught 36 receptions for 550 yards and 5 touchdowns. Also posted 384 yards on 14 kick-off returns. Has three years to play two at USC. Has posted a 4.34 in the 40.

Kyle Williams

Genetics are there, with grandfather who played for the 49ers, an uncle who played for the Detroit Lions and Washington Redskins, and dad who played college basketball. Really quick setting up in pass protection, projects as a left offensive tackle in college. Played in the National All Star game. Wants to major in broadcast journalism. Has a 3.5 GPA.

Brandon Hancock

Notable: Quite possibly the most impressive physical specimen to ever play HS football. Posted incredible numbers at the Nike camp in Palo Alto (4.49 forty, 39" VJ, BP: 43 reps of 185 lbs). An intelligent kid with a 4.0 GPA. Earned All-State recognition as a sophomore DE. Was sidelined due to injury as a junior. Played FB in addition to DE as a senior. Racked up 1,200 yards rushing and 400 yards receiving as a senior. Will enroll early so he can participate in spring practice at USC.

Tom Malone

Notable: One of the top punters in the nation and also kicked a 47 yard FG. Averaged 43.4 yards a punt as a senior. Punt hangtime has been estimated at 4.5 seconds. Unusually athletic for a K/P. Ran a 4.5 forty and a 4.15 shuttle at the Stanford Nike camp. Also played backup QB in HS. Polite and intelligent kid who carried a 4.4 GPA in high school and scored a 1,200 on his SAT. Will enroll early so he can participate in spring practice. He is expected to compete for the starting P and KO positions as a freshman.

Notable: One of the best athletes on the West Coast and grossly underrated in the minds of many. A blazing fast cover corner who explodes out of his breaks. Also played RB as a junior and moved to QB as a senior. As a freshman in HS, ran an electronically timed 10.65 100m. A very polite and friendly kid who also very intelligent. Earned a 4.17 GPA at Dominguez. Cal Hi Sports on Wyatt: "one of the most impressive athletes we have ever highlighted on Inside Cal-Hi…when the pigskin is thrown in his direction, he can break on it with more explosive acceleration than we have ever seen before."
