Leinart to stay for senior year

In a move that surprises many football onlookers, USC junior quarterback Matt Leinart has elected to stay with the Trojans for his senior season rather than enter the NFL draft.

"There are a lot of reasons for the decision but what it came down to is that to leave USC would've been tough. Being here with my teammates and the SC family is what I wanted. I didn't want to leave and have regrets. What is going on here at USC right now is something special.

"There's so much information and you try to process it the best you can but at some point my mind was on overload. I didn't really know until this morning what my final choice would be.

"It's not so much about winning another Heisman or putting up stats, it's what's best for me. The most important thing I learned through this process is to do what's right for me and I'm not ready to leave."
