Junior to watch: Reggie Bush

One of the top juniors on the wish list for next season is expected to be Helix HS running back Reggie Bush, a 5'11", 185 do it all back whose coach compares him to Marshall Faulk for his ability to catch, run, block and do it all with an impressive blend of style and grace.

"Reggie is the type of player who can take over a game at any time, "says Helix coach Gordon Wood, who guided the team to a CIF SD title. "Last year he scored 34 TD's but as a team we averaged over 47 points a game so there was a lot of other guys doing some damage as well. If we wanted to it would've been easy to just always give the ball to Reggie and see what he could do but we had other players. In our only loss this year against Monte Vista he only touched the ball 13 times but in those plays he had two TD's running, two TD's catching and one TD throwing the ball."

Bush has already been offered by Stanford and Washington with the Cardinal already being mentioned as an early favorite but USC coach Nick Holt paid a visit to the school last week and the Trojans will be recruiting this talented player. He set conference season records for scoring (204 points), touchdowns (34), and all-purpose running (3,135 yards). His 2,200 rushing yards on a mere 183 carries ranked second on the conference's all-time books and his 36.4-yard average per rushing TD is second to none.
