Trojans offer Taylor Mays

Seattle O'Dea HS safety Taylor Mays paid a visit to the USC campus on Friday and came away with an offer from the two-time national champions. Click below to hear his thoughts on the trip:

Mays is expected to be one of the top safety recruits on the West Coast with his 6-3, 218 frame (4.41 40) and it looks as if the Trojans will be one of the top schools on his list during the recruiting process.

"I went to USC this morning and it was a very good experience. I had a chance to see the school, we toured the campus and went to the Coliseum. I got to talk with Coach Carroll a couple times, we talked about his philosophies, his thoughts on me as a player, stuff like that and they offered me a scholarship.

"I was there from about 9:30am to 1:00pm. Coach Burns was my host along with Coach Anno and one of the academic advisors. I had a chance to meet some of the players like Dominique Byrd, Darnell Bing and Jason Leach. It's such a beautiful campus and the school provides you with top academics and football. I will definitely be seriously considering USC, yes sir. It was a fun visit, it was cool."

Mays had 59 tackles with five interceptions last season and also had three punt returns for touchdowns. He has a 3.4 grade-point-average and would like to major in aeronautical engineering.
