"My mom wants me to commit to a school that is best for me," said Ausberry from Lemoore High School. "She went to USC's JR Day with me and talked with all of the coaches. She said that she really liked all of them. When USC offered me, I was really surprised. I'm from a little town in California [Lemoore] and I didn't realize that the coaches at USC would know who I was. I was really impressed when they offered me.
"I've spoken with some of the players at USC and they're all really cool guys. I think I could get along with them all pretty well. They've got a lot of talented players on their offense and I really like how the coaches are still able to mix it up. I like how they've got an even thing going with their passing and running game.
"I really like the atmosphere at USC," he said. "The players there are always pumped up to go out there and practice hard and win a lot games. I also like how everybody there shows up with a real good attitude. All in all, USC would be a great place to be, both as a student and as an athlete. I really like what they're doing over there."
"I really try to keep in contact with the coaches there, even more than some of the other schools in my top five. The coaches at USC also make a great effort to get to know their players and recruits. They've got a real great system there. It's so early in this process right now, so that's why I say USC leads slightly."
"I recently spoke with a real cool coach from Ohio State, but I can't remember his name," said Ausberry. "I don't know that much on the program still, but I've liked them ever since I was a kid. I have never been there.
"Michigan is a real good program. I recently spoke with coach (Ron) English (secondary) and he's a great guy. Plus one of my good friends, Johnny Sears, (Michigan signee/cornerback) is going there. He told me that he really likes the program and that the coaches there are great."
He'll be at the West Coast camp in Santa Barbara on May 14. This summer he said he plans to take in camps at USC and Ohio State. He also said he'd like to make it to Cal for an unofficial visit.
