What makes Johnson so special as a running back? Ask him and he'll tell you it's variety of things.
"I have good vision, speed and power. I guess you could say that I am a cross between a power guy and a speed guy. I also have a little wiggle to my game because I wasn't always big. I had to have moves but I needed that more then.
"I also play safety. Last season I started the last two games and got 17 tackles and three interceptions. This season I hope to play both ways."
As far as his college destination goes Johnson now says he is open where as before Southern Cal was his early leader.
"At the top it is a tight squeeze between a lot of schools. I need to sit down and think about it and I am really looking forward to the process.
"Southern Cal is a school with back-to-back titles. They have great history especially at the running back position and all those Heisman trophies. USC is running back university. Coach (Pete) Carroll is a great guy and he is all business and a great coach. If I want to make it to the next level than USC is a great place for me. They have a great coaching staff with a great spirit.
"Cal. is an up and coming school. Coach (Jeff) Tedford is a different type of guy and I like him and his staff. They have made something out of nothing. Plus, my buddy DeSean Jackson is there and some other friends.
"With UCLA it all about Coach (Eric) Bienemy. We have a great bond and so do the players with him. I mean they love him.
"Tennessee is just something different to me. They are not close but that's OK. I am looking at some schools that are far away. But Tennessee is a national team that I am not sure about but they intrigue me. There is something about them.
"Miami is just like USC. They have great running backs in the NFL. They have so many prospects in the league. I have done my home work and they have so many first-rounders over the past ten years or so.
"I really like Urban Meyer at Florida. I also like coach Drayton. They are far away from home but that's not a problem. I can also get a great education at Florida. Plus, Josh Portis is a California guy doing well there.
"Michigan is another school with great running back tradition. That's a school that loves to run the football. If I have to pick a school that I could see myself playing at Michigan would be one of them. I mean all the schools I have mentioned I could see myself playing there."
