Caleb shows interest in Trojans

Wide receiver/free safety Brandon Caleb (6-1, 195, 4.55) from Fork Union Military (Va.) has been talking to USC running backs coach Todd McNair and elevated the Trojans to the top of his list of favorites.

"USC is recruiting me as a wide receiver. I like T-Mac and I like their coach (Pete Carroll). He's been at USC for four years and they pass the ball a lot. That's what all receivers want. I'm not really interested in schools that run the ball a lot.

"Their coaches (USC) keep it real with me and tell me not to worry about who's coming in. Everyone has to compete for playing time. USC isn't for everyone because they have so many great players, but that doesn't concern me. I'm interested in getting that ring."

Caleb didn't beat around the Bush regarding his interest in USC.

"USC is my dream school," Said Caleb. "If they offered me a scholarship, I would likely commit during the summer. The only thing that could keep me from committing to USC would be a bad visit in Los Angeles. I mean, I'd have to not get along with the players and not feel a bond with the coaches."

Caleb will make an unofficial visit to USC during the summer regardless if they have offered him a scholarship. He will also attend a camp at Georgia Tech during the summer and will unofficially visit Florida and Florida State.

Last season Caleb had 15 receptions for 405 yards and six touchdowns. Fork Union Military Academy didn't have much of a passing attack, hence the low number of receptions.

He also posted 55 tackles, 15 for loss, three forced fumbles, four interceptions and two touchdowns on defense and earned all-league, all-central Virginia and all-state honors as a linebacker.

Note: Caleb has a 3.4 GPA.
