Goodson talks about USC visit

Klein Collins RB Michael Goodson, the current No. 1 prospect in the State of Texas (per Scout.com), and our No. 1 RB in the Southwest and Big 12 Region, talks about his visit to So Cal. Make no mistake, while he just told us that it is a 3-team race between "USC, OU and A&M," based on our conversation just a few minutes ago, we think the Trojans are going to be really tough to beat.

"I just got back from USC," Michael Goodson told Scout.com. "It was a great visit. And, to be honest, it's going to be really hard for anyone (Oklahoma & Texas A&M) to top that (experience)."

Goodson, of course, got to meet the Trojan head man one-on-one and the words of Pete Carroll struck a chord, for it's not often that a machine-of-a program will tell you flat out that you are the No. 1 speed back in the country, and the only speed back they are after, not to mention that they you to "come in and replace Reggie Bush."

"Coach Carroll said I was the No. 1 (speed) back on their list and that they want one more ‘back, a big back, and me," Goodson revealed. "They showed me a lot of love, and on campus too."

No doubt, SC pulled out all the stops to lock this kid up, but he has one more trip to make before ending the suspense.

"I'm going to OU next week for a Friday, Saturday and Sunday trip," said the kid who posted a ridiculous 11.4 yard-per-carry average as junior, something even the best of the best cannot lay claim to. "And, then I'll make a decision."

While the all-purpose ‘back maintains that Oklahoma and Texas A&M are still in the thick of it, folks, by his own admission, USC is looking very pretty right about now…

"There's just something about it -- can't really describe it."

Going Back To Cali?

Stay tuned, we'll know per Goodson, shortly after the conclusion of his visit to Norman June 12.
