"I like hitting and would say I'm quick and aggressive," said Martin, an all league performer last year for the Huskies who will attend the Trojan junior day on Saturday. "I run a 4.6 40 and played safety as a sophomore but I moved to middle linebacker last season. My position in college is likely at outside linebacker."
Martin (6'0", 216) notched 125 tackles last season, including 14 for loss, as Centennial was ranked among the top teams in the state before suffering a surprising playoff loss. Brett called the defense last season and next year he should team with junior Ryan Phipps to form one of the most impressive linebacking duos in the area. Brett has a 3.0 GPA, can bench 285 and squat 425 and is also a longtime Trojan fan.
"Ever since I was little my whole family has liked SC, we have season tickets to all the football games and I like them a lot. A friend of our family got us interested in them and they were friends with Trevor Roberts (a former Trojan OL who attended HS in the area) so that got us started and my brothers friends sister is engaged to John Fox. I'm getting quite a few letters from schools and I'll look at ASU as well because I'm pretty good friends with Terry Richardson but I was real excited when the USC coaches contacted my coach and invited me to the junior day, I'm really looking forward to it."
