Wednesday practice report

One of the first people we saw come on to the practice field today was Josh Pinkard and that was a good sign after his hard pop into the wall on Brian Kennedy Field yesterday. Pinkard said he is fine and he went through the whole practice. Others who were in action after recent injuries included Jeff Schweiger, Travis Draper, Will Harris and Mozique McCurtis.

There were still plenty of players sitting out including Sartz and Cushing with shoulder problems, Byers, Radovich and Coleman with hip problems, Ramsey, Tofi and Luthur Brown. Radovich is having the hip checked on and if he needs surgery he would sit out the rest of the season and be available for spring ball. Justin Wyatt came to practice a little late after getting taped up, he was hobbling a little during the day but said he is fine. Reggie Bush went through practice but did not go through contact.

As happens often during stretching drills, Fred Matua got into some verbal sparring and this time it was Thomas Williams on the other end and Thomas was giving it as good as he was getting it from Fred.

Matt Leinart looked terrific today. There was one stretch in the scout team drill where the ball didn't hit the ground as Matt spread the ball around with completed passes to Steve Smith (a nice deep ball), Fred Davis, Chris McFoy, Dominique Byrd, LenDale White, Dwayne Jarrett and Desmond Reed.

Whitney Lewis had a pair of nice catches. Will Buchanon had a good break up on a slant pass.

After practice several offensive linemen including Sam Baker, Winston Justice, Kyle Williams and Tiny Malu stayed late to work on pass rush technique with youngsters Kyle Moore, Fili Moala, Draper and Alex Morrow. Ryan Powdrell also stayed late to work with Seto and Norton. Top Stories
