USC Trojan recruiting update

Here's an updated look at the Trojan recruiting class as the USC coaches start finalizing the Class of 2006.

Garrett Green (Notre Dame HS) 6-0, 190

Green is the only target on the QB wish list and he will visit UCLA this weekend after taking a trip to USC last weekend. It will come down to a local battle.

Running Back
Emmanuel Moody (Coppel HS, TX) 5-11, 185
Stanley Havili (Cottonwood HS, UT) 6-1, 215

Stafon Johnson (Dorsey HS) 6-0, 200
C. J. Spiller (Union County HS, FL) 5-10, 185
Michael Goodson (Klein HS, TX) 5-11, 190
Keiland Williams (Hargrave Academy, VA) 6-2, 225
Marcus Sims (North Florida Christian, FL) 6-1, 225

This could be turning out to be a huge class at the RB spot. Coach Carroll was in-home last night with C.J. Spiller and Marcus Sims and will see Michael Goodson today.

Wide Receiver
David Ausberry (Lemoore HS) 6-3, 215
Vidal Hazelton (Hargrave Academy, VA) 6-2, 205
Anthony McCoy (Bullard HS) 6-4, 225

Travon Patterson (LB Poly HS) 5-9, 175
Percy Harvin (Landstown HS, VA) 5-11, 185
Jamere Holland (Taft HS) 5-11, 180

Patterson is still claiming that USC and Oregon are his final two choices. The Trojans continue to pursue Harvin and Holland, Jamere was on an early week visit to Arizona the past two days.

Tight End
Gerald Washington (Chaffey College) 6-6, 240
Jermaine Gresham (Ardmore HS, OK) 6-6, 220

Gresham took a visit to USC this past weekend, things went well but it would be a surprise at this point if he chose the Trojans.

Offensive Line
Zack Heberer (San Pedro HS) 6-4, 285
Stephen Schilling (Bellevue HS, WA) 6-5, 285
Sam Young (St Thomas Aquinas HS, FL) 6-8, 300
Andre Smith (Huffman HS, AL) 6-4, 300

Schilling visits this weekend in what could be a huge boost for the OL class. He is scheduled to be the only recruit in town this weekend so he will get plenty of attention from the Trojan coaches. Young is expected to announce his decision Thursday morning, Carroll was in his house early this week.

Defensive Line
Derek Simmons (Armijo HS) 6-5, 275
Alex Parsons (Woodbridge HS) 6-4, 260
Butch Lewis (Regis HS, CO) 6-5, 280
Walker Ashley (Eden Prairie HS, MN) 6-5, 285

Gerald McCoy (Southeast HS, OK) 6-4, 290

Jethro Franklin led a contingent of three USC coaches who paid an in-home visit to McCoy last night and this one looks to be a USC vs Oklahoma battle to the end.

Joshua Tatum (McClymonds HS) 6-1, 220
Travis Goethel (Vista HS) 6-5, 220

The Trojans could still make a late run at Goethel.

Defensive Back
Antwine Perez (Wilson HS, NJ) 6-2, 205
Taylor Mays (O'Dea HS, WA) 6-3, 220
Allen Bradford (Colton HS) 6-2, 220
Shareece Wright (Colton HS) 6-0, 185
C.J. Gable (Sylmar HS) 5-11, 185

Jonas Mouton (Venice HS) 6-2, 210

Mouton will not take any more visits and lists USC, Michigan and LSU as his top three although most speculation has him choosing between the Trojans and Wolverines.

Brett Upson (Spalding HS, GA) 5-11, 175

The Trojan coaches have wanted to take a punter in this class but at this point they could elect to pass on one for this year and focus on next year. Top Stories
