Fua to visit USC

Defensive tackle/offensive lineman Sione Fua (6-2, 290, 4.9) from Encino Crespi Carmelite (Calif.) said USC coach Greg Burns called him on Tuesday evening.

"So, now I'm going to take a trip to USC tomorrow. I'll be going with my parents," Fua said. "Before, USC had told me they didn't think they could offer me because I'm going to go on a two-year mission. So, I guess I'll find out if they still feel that way. I think they'll offer me on my trip. But I'm gonna insist on taking a mission. If they let me do that, I might go there. USC has always been a favorite school of mine.

"I hadn't been talking with their coaches much," he said. "They had been speaking with my coaches. They want me for the offensive line. I'm supposed to see the USC coaches at my school later today.

"If they offer me, and I can go on my mission, I'll have a decision to make. This changes things a lot. I like Stanford and Oregon, but I always wanted to go to USC. It's a great school and it's close to home."

"I don't know. I'll just have to decide and I don't know what I'll do. I'll try to decide on Monday. So the schools will all know as soon as possible about my decision."

Fua reports a 4.0 GPA/1670 SAT--"I'd like to study along the lines of business."
