Dorsey HS running back Stafon Johnson, one of the top prospects on the USC wish list, gave a verbal commitment to the Trojans this afternoon during a live announcement on ESPNews.
Johnson (6-0, 200) is ranked as the #2 running back in the nation by Scout.com after rushing for over 2,000 yards this season (1st RB in Dorsey history to eclipse that mark). Stafon is also a highly touted safety who started the Army All-American game on the defensive side of the ball but he is expected to come in and provide an immediate impact at RB for the Trojans.
"I will be attending USC. The recruiting process was a tough one and my decision was not easy but I have decided to be a Trojan."
He chose USC over Georgia and Washington.
Stafon is a true game-breaking running back with a strong work ethic. He has the ability to make the big plays as well as do the little things and he impressed the Army game coaches with his willingness to run between the tackles, especially considering he was less than a month removed from an ankle injury suffered in the City semi-finals.
