Recruit to watch: WR/TE Xavier Jackson

Jackson (6-3, 235) from Wood HS in Vacaville had a solid performance at the Northern California Nike Camp and is a player who could end up at either TE or DE in college although he would prefer another spot.

"I know most schools want me as a TE but I want to play WR. I'm big but I don't think I'm going to grow out of the position. I'm quick for my size, run good routes, can get open at will and have good hands."

Xavier runs a 4.5 40 and last season had 31 catches for 360 yards and 3 touchdowns in a primarily running offense. He is looking forward to playing in a wide open offense in college and that is one of the reasons that USC and Oregon head his favorite list.

"I like teams that pass the ball. USC, they spread the ball around a lot and Oregon does too. I've been a Trojan fan for a long time. I also like Michigan State."

He has yet to receive an offer from any of his favorites and will camp this summer at Cal, Sacramento State and possibly Northwestern.
