Terrell also runs track as one of the interesting stories shared was of his April 13th itinerary regarding the USC Nike Camp and Arcadia Track Meet. He was one of the first to arrive at the USC Nike Camp and went through the measurement drills. Then it was off to Arcadia to get there for a 400 meter race which started around 1:20 p.m. where he ran a personal record and finished 3rd(for those who do not know, the Arcadia Invitational is a very prestigious/competitive meet). Then it was back to USC Nike Camp for one on one's. Finally, back to the Arcadia meet for the 4 x 400 relay.
Terrell played free safety last season racking up 78 tackles, 5 interceptions, and 2 fumble recoveries. He does not mind playing safety or cornerback as he has the size and speed for both. When reminded that tall corners are in demand, he said he just wants to be on the field. This coming season Rancho will be using him on offense at quarterback, wide receiver, and tail back as they want to put him in positions to make plays. He also used to play basketball in high school until he broke his wrist his sophomore year.
When asked about what he likes about SC, the first things mentioned were the history of great DB's, and Pete Carroll as a defensive coordinator who specializes in the secondary. He admires Ronnie Lott and Lawyer Milloy. He also mentioned he likes Sammy Knight, as Sammy was coached by his current track coach. Speaking of Lott and Knight, Thomas loves to hit as he was at the Oregon State/USC game last fall and mentioned how disgusted he was that Carson ran over an OSU defensive back for the winning touchdown. Not that he was rooting for either team, "but as a DB, you cannot let a QB show you up." Terrell has good hips, closing speed, and the demeanor to be the type of playmaker Carroll loves. He currently has a 3.0 GPA and expects to be fully qualified. He is open to a major in college.
