"USC is definitely somewhere I have to think about really seriously. I'm not sure about taking a visit yet. We'll have to see how things pan out."
Gilchrist said that a big part of his decision will be what school has his major. "I want to major in computer engineering, so I'm looking at what schools offer the best program in that. I'm also looking for stability. I want to make sure the coaching staff isn't going anywhere. I'd like to go someplace I could see some early play time too.
"Right now I don't have any favorites," he said. "I want to make sure I know everything I need to before I narrow things down. I want to commit by the end of summer, before next season. I really don't want to worry about all of this during football."
Gilchrist said his strength is his versatility. "I move all around the corner. I'm big on reading the ball and I know when to play it safe and when to take chances. I think everybody has room to improve. With me, I want to be a little better at my coverage."
