O'Dowd talks combine and recruiting

Arizona OL will attend USC summer camp

So how did you enjoy today's Scout Combine?

"I thought it was good. I had a great time. I got to go up against some good players like my friend Everson Griffen. I think we went 2-2 against each other. I think my combine results were good, but I pulled my groin earlier in the week."

Who else impressed you that you had a chance to compete against?

"I was really impressed with this one defensive end. I am trying to remember his number and name, but he is really fast coming off the edge."

Was it Kenny Rowe of Long Beach Poly?

"Yeah. that's who it was. He was really a good rusher."

Do you have a position that you would like to play in college?

"I really don't know where I'll play in college. I think it could be guard or center, but it would be okay if it was tackle."

How has the recruiting process been going for you up to this point?

"It's been a trip. You know, you only get to experience this once in your lifetime. It's been enjoyable."

Are you planning on attending any camps this summer?

"Yes. I'll probably go to the Trojans' Rising Senior Camp and that's about it."

So did you spend much time following the Trojans this season?

"Yes, I watched them. I've been researching them from a standpoint of their offensive line depth. I know that they need offensive linemen. As far as Notre Dame, they already have enough linemen, so I am aware of depth charts. You have to like USC because of its reputation and I have checked their roster.

Do you have any family members that reside in southern California?

"Yes. I have an uncle that lives in Santa Barbara, but he is not really a sports fan. He is more a social activist."

Are you planning on waiting or could you commit early?

"I could commit early or it could be just up in the air. We'll see as I take my visits."

As of now, what is your height and weight and what do you do on the bench press?

"I am 6-feet-4, 303 pounds, and I bench press 420 pounds."
