Recruiting Camps to be held this weekend

One of the things the Trojan staff has really emphasized during the recruiting process in recent years is the importance of attending the USC summer camps. If you are a recruit who is looking to receive a scholarship offer from the Trojans, the coaches have made it clear that a big factor in their decision making process will be the in-person evaluations they are able to make at the camps.

There is no substitute for seeing a player in person to help sway a decision and last year we saw some key examples with three linemen (Zack Heberer, Derek Simmons and Alex Parsons) who came into the camps without USC offers yet they performed well enough to receive offers shortly thereafter before eventually committing to the Trojans.

Who will be the recruits this year who step up and perform well enough to earn one of the coveted offers? We will begin to find out this weekend as the Skill and Lineman camps will be held, the first of two camp sessions this month (the Trojan Rising Senior camp will be held on the 26th and 27th). The Lineman camp, in particular, should be interesting as it will feature the top uncommitted offensive linemen in the state as well as the lone Trojan commit along the o-line in Martin Coleman from Edison HS in Huntington Beach.

Here's a partial list of players who will look to shine this weekend and receive a Trojan offer:
