Wiggins adds Trojan offer

Doug Wiggins has an offer list that rivals just about any other player in the state of Florida this year as the rising senior is well over 20 offers and he added some big ones lately. The North Miami Beach standout talked about the latest in his life.

"We had a good spring," Wiggins said. "We beat Carol City 14-0 in the spring game. I did real good on offense. We were able to move the ball at will. On defense, our D-Line and linebackers were great and they shut everything down. They actually had negative yardage. I couldn't get any picks or anything but as long as we're playing like that on defense, I'll be happy."

Wiggins, 5-foot-10 and 185 pounds, isn't doing any camps this summer.

"I'm just staying around here and working out with my teammates at the school," he said. "If we went to some team camps where everyone's in pads, that'd be cool but I wont be going to any of the camps where you're in t-shits."

The rising senior is well over 20 offers and he added some big ones lately.

"I just got offered by USC actually," he said of the Trojans. "I was real happy and surprised about that. They really don't recruit Florida too much. They came down to watch me in the spring. I have a friend that signed there and I'll definitely be taking a visit out there. I like them a lot. I also got offered by Michigan and South Carolina recently too."

Wiggins, who could project at a number of positions in college, said he hopes to have a top five nailed down soon.

"I'm gonna try getting it down to five by the end of summer so I can focus on my senior season and know which five I'll be visiting," he said. "The position I play doesn't matter. I just wanna get on the field as soon as possible."

Many people wonder about the hometown Hurricanes and Wiggins talked about them.

"I like UM and to me, it doesn't matter that they just got a couple commitments in the secondary (Damian Berry and DeMarcus Van Dyke)," he said. "There's gonna be competition wherever I go and plus, Miami's recruiting me as an athlete. If I went there, I could end up playing offense."

Aside from the Trojans, Wiggins isn't sure about any of his five visit slots yet.
