Marshall Jones commits to USC

Marshall Jones, the top ranked safety in the West according to Scout.com, has given a verbal commit to the Trojans. Jones becomes the 2nd Oaks Christian player to commit to USC in the past week after teammate RB Marc Tyler gave a verbal to the Trojans last Thursday.

Jones said that he and his family visited USC this morning and he committed to the coaches at that time. Marshall was headed to practice for Oaks Christian but told Brian he would be available for a full interview after practice is over.

A big part of Oaks Christian's two-time defending CIF Champion squad, Jones was the lone junior selected to the First Team defense on the All-CIF Southern Section team. Jones intercepted five passes for 219 yards, recovered one fumble and recorded 71 tackles, including 52 solo tackles. As a wide receiver, Jones caught 23 passes for 407 yards and three touchdowns.
