Edison passing tournament

There was a 16 team passing tournament held today at Edison HS featuring some of the top teams in Southern California including Edison, Los Alamitos, Mater Dei, Hart and Loyola. Click below for photos and a recap of some of the top players:

Some of the top players who stood out were as follows:

RB/CB Shane Vereen (Valencia) - long arms and quick feet, can play on either side of the ball

QB Clark Evans (Los Alamitos) - soph-to-be transferred from Santa Margarita and he's the real deal.
RB Chris Soto (Los Alamitos) - big and quick running back
LB Steven Clark (Los Alamitos) - imposing 6-4, 235 backer sat out most of last fall for disciplinary reasons so he hasn't been highly recruited...yet.

ATH Omar Bolden (Colony) - versatile and quick, can play corner, running back or receiver

QB Matt Barkley (Mater Dei) - another impressive soph thrower, Barkley looks in command of the Monarch offense
RB Ahmed Mokhtar (Mater Dei) - thick upper body and seems to move well
FB/LB Travis McNaughton (Mater Dei) - barrell chested player who performed mostly today on defense

RB/S Delano Howell (Hart) - one of the more impressive players we saw today. His brother, Dan, also played at Hart and is now at Washington. Delano will be a junior next fall.
LB Pat Larrimore (Hart) - another talented Hart junior to watch in the fall.

ATH Brandon Magee (Centennial, Corona) - his brother Angelo is a talented senior receiver but keep an eye out for this junior.
RB Ryan Bass (Centennial, Corona) - Bass put up over 2,000 yards last year as a soph after moving from defense.

CB Talmadge Jackson (Chapparal) - corner with good quickness and instincts

Valencia RB/CB Shane Vereen

Los Al LB Steven Clark

Colony ATH Omar Bolden

Mater Dei QB Matt Barkley

Hart RB/S Delano Howell

Edison OL Martin Coleman, a USC verbal commit, manning the BBQ at the snack shack
