Jody Adewale is a tailback in a fullback's physique as he rushed for 1,660 yards, 25 touchdowns, and an average per carry of 9.2 yards last season. His team plays in a Wing T offense where Jody can excel being the featured ball carrier. For those who might remember, Roosevelt produced another pretty good running back a few years ago named Mike Garrett. Adewale also plays on the defensive side at middle linebacker and free safety, as he racked up 42 tackles and one interception last fall.
Jody attended the Nike Camp at USC in April as well as one day of the SC four- day camp. He is currently 6'0", 215 pounds, and runs a 4.6 forty. Adewale also has a 28" vertical, can bench a max of 300 pounds, and squats 460. He said he has really stressed his leg work during his workouts this summer as he wants to get faster. Ironically, his speed and hands are the two variables he considers his strengths as a football player. The one thing he wants to work on are game situations and what they entail.
Adewale is currently narrowing down the schools of interest to him, but he said USC and Texas A&M stick out among the others. Neither of the two have offered, but Jody has been in touch with coaches Kennedy Pola, Pete Carroll, Ed Orgeron, and Greg Burns from SC. He has been to USC several times as his parents are big Trojan fans. In fact, he mentioned that SC memorabilia is quite noticeable in the Adewale household. Jody said that he is 80% certain he would commit to USC if offered. If one took SC out of the equation, he said that he would most likely wait until a month or so after his season is over. Jody has been an SC fan himself for several years as he went to elementary school for a time on 32nd street near SC. He likes the tradition, coaches, and the fact SC is in California.
Jody carries a 3.3 GPA and scored an 890 on the attempt of his SAT. He has since taken the SAT again in hopes of raising his score. He would like to major in Psychology or Political Science in college. Finally, to all the readers of the WeAreSC.com site, Jody wanted to say a big Fight On!
