Oaks Christian vs St. Bonaventure on FSN

In one of the most highly anticipated games in recent years, the Oaks Christian Lions take on the St. Bonaventure Seraphs tonight at 7:00pm at Ventura High School. The game is sold out and it will be broadcast live nationally on Fox Sports Net.

The numbers only tell part of the story for these two "small schools" who have built themselves into national powers as both are ranked among the top 10 teams in the nation by Sports Illustrated.

Oaks Christian has nine Div 1 recruits on their roster. The Lions have won three CIF titles in a row and boast a 33 game win streak.

St. Bonaventure has won 98 of its last 101 games, including its last 27. The Seraphs have played in seven consecutive Southern Section championship games and won all but the 2003 title.

Players to Watch

Oaks Christian Lions

#26 RB/LB Marc Tyler – a verbal commit to USC. A punishing runner who is also a physical force on defense.

#27 DB/WR Marshall Jones – another verbal commit to USC. A hard-hitting enforcer in the secondary.

#7 QB Jimmy Clausen – a verbal commit to Notre Dame. Is he overhyped? I don't think so but here's a chance to judge for yourself.

#57 LB Casey Matthews – a verbal commit to Oregon. One of the top linebackers on the West Coast, son of Oaks defensive coordinator Clay Matthews, Sr.

#25 CB Anthony Gildon – a verbal commit to Oregon. One of the best cover corners around.

St. Bonaventure Seraphs

#19 LB/TE Blaine Irby – a verbal commit to Texas. Imposing size combined with nice athletic ability.

#40 DB Michael Williams – an active member of the secondary, he will come up and hit you while also possessing good speed to control his area of the field.

#20 RB Michael Lee – undersized yet very tough and effective tailback.

#79 RT Vaughn Dotsy – expected to be one of the top OL recruits for the Class of 2008

#18 DL Ryan Medina – another powerfully built underclassman who should be a top recruit next year

#4 TE Raphael Washington – don't forget about him for the Class of 2008, the Seraphs should be ready to contend again next year with so much underclass talent (sophs Tony Macarena at QB and Patrick Hall at WR are also tremendous weapons)
