McKnight talks recruiting

Five-star running back (ranked number six by Scout.com) Joe McKnight (5-11, 185, 4.4) from River Ridge Christian (La.) has had seven touchdowns in just three games. His team is a perfect 3-0 so far this season.

McKnight denies a leader, but favors USC, LSU, Florida State, Notre Dame and Miami. All of his favorites have offered, but he hasn't scheduled any official visits yet.

"I love how USC uses their running backs," McKnight said. "They throw the ball out of the backfield and they see a lot of action. They have a great offense. I think they responded pretty well and are doing great this season. They have a lot of great players, so they can afford to lose a guy like Reggie Bush and still be a top team."

McKnight also says he has a very good relationship with their linebacker coach, Ken Norton. "He's very funny. We seem to talk about everything and I like how laid back and casual he is."

He has already attended two games at LSU and says he loves the Tigers game day atmosphere. "The best way to describe it is…loud!"

From his five favorite teams, McKnight says that Florida State has impressed him the most thus far this season. "They fight hard to win," McKnight said. "Even when they aren't playing well, they still fight. They manage to get through tough battles and that says a lot about their players and coaches."

Another team that proved they can fight hard is Notre Dame. "The Michigan State game was hard fought," McKnight said. "It was a great game. I loved how they never stopped. They really wanted to win. You could just tell something was going to happen and that it wouldn't be that easy for Michigan State to win."

He reports a 2.7 GPA and an 18 ACT score.
