Agua Fria (AZ.) suffered a tough loss against Saguaro Friday evening in a 56-20 debacle. Arizona's top ranked high school football player, Everson Griffen, saw his season end in the first quarter, still suffering affects from an earlier high-ankle sprain injury.
With the start of official visits already behind us, it is no wonder why so many coaches are making Everson Griffen a top priority. In the last week alone, schools such as Michigan and Notre Dame stopped by to visit Griffen in Arizona.

Warren Drops Two, Now Has a Concrete Top Five
Four-star cornerback prospect Donovan Warren of Long Beach Poly (CA.) recently eliminated Oregon and Arizona from his top list of schools. Warren now has narrowed his list of schools to a manageable five, click her to read which schools made the final cut.
McKnight Still Making Most of Opportunities
It remains a mystery to this day why Joe McKnight of Curtis HS (La.) continuously gets very touches a game. One thing can be said for McKnight, one of the more explosive players in the country this year, he does make the most of the opportunities he is given.
McKnight and his Curtis HS teammates recently took on Clinton HS Friday evening in a game that was over early in the contest. Curtis won 59-12, and McKnight finished the night with three touchdowns from three different spots. McKnight had one rushing attempt for two yards and a touchdown, three receptions for 88 yards and touchdown, and one punt return for 50 yards and a touchdown.

Another Simmons on the Horizon
The Simmons name should ring a bell amongst most Trojan fans, and another member in the clan is making his name known for the class of 2008. Compton (CA.) Dominguez linebacker Maurice Simmons is one of the top junior prospects in California, and here is the film to prove why.
One of the more intriguing stories for the class of 2007 is Omar Bolden of Colony HS (CA.). Bolden has made it no secret that USC is his dream school, but his dream offer all depends on his progress in the spectrum of academics. Orange Lutheran Survives Spirited Comeback
Orange Lutheran and Long Beach Poly took the field Friday night in what ended up a close one. Orange Lutheran held a comfortable 23-0 lead heading into the fourth quarter, but Poly proved there was no quit within them. Poly's efforts came up short in the end, as Orange Lutheran held on for the 23-22 victory. Lutheran will take on Martin Coleman and Edison HS next weekend in the championship game.
USC commitment Aaron Corp finished the night with 65 yards rushing on 20 carries and 76 yards through the air while completing 10 of his 18 passes. USC commitment Michael Reardon had a very productive game, racking up eight tackles and a safety in the victory. Junior tight end Blake Ayles caught four passes for 50 yards, including a big first time on the final drive of the game. Donovan Warren carried the ball six times for 26 yards, also adding three tackles on defense.
Pulaski Academy Loses Shootout
Despite Broderick Green's four touchdown game on the ground, Pulaski Academy came up one point short in the 56-55 loss to Greenwood. Green was huge in the loss, adding a 58 yard touchdown run with just over four minutes left in the contest.

Oaks Christian Continues Winning Ways
Oaks Christian School continues winning in a dominant fashion, making Harvard Westlake the school's most recent victim. Oaks Christian will move on to play Oak Park HS after a 48-14 romping of Harvard Westlake. The game was won with an inspired defensive effort and an explosive offense. USC commitment rushed for 119 and one score in replacement duty for the injured Marc Tyler. Anthony Gildon caught two touchdown passes on offense, giving Jimmy Clausen five on the day.
Scott Still Impressive in Playoff Victory
Darrell Scott is still adding to his already impressive season totals, rushing for 245 yards and four td's in Moorpark's 56-27 victory over Hart. Moorpark will move on to play Canyon in the championship game.
