Recruiting Catch-Up

Recruiting Catch-Up gives Trojan fans a one-stop-shop for all the recruiting news over the past week. Included in this week's edition are updates on Jordan Campbell, Marshall Jones, Aaron Corp, Michael Reardon, Blake Ayles, Joe McKnight, Everson Griffen, Kris O'Dowd, Darrell Scott, and many more.

Campbell Comes Up Big

USC commitment Jordan Campbell has had a breakout senior season, and according to the four-star linebacker, Saturday's victory over Chaparral in the finals may have been his finest performance to date. Campbell finished with 16 tackles, four sacks, and an interception in the 43-0 victory.

As Expected

The outcome of Friday night's match-up between Oaks Christian and Oak Park was no surprise, as Oaks Christian seemed destined to steamroll any opponent in between them and the State Title Game. Oaks Christian beat the Eagles 46-7, and Marshall Jones had a big day on both ends of the ball. Jones finished with 80 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries on the offensive end, racking up five tackles and an interception for a touchdown on the defensive end.

Oaks Christian will take on Cardinal Newman at 11:00 AM Saturday in the State Title game at the Home Depot Center. The game will be televised live on FSN Prime Ticket.

Curtis on Top

Curtis HS has proven to be one of the top high school football teams in the nation, stemming from their upset victory over then number one ranked Hoover HS. Curtis HS, led by Joe McKnight, took on St. Charles Catholic with the State title on the line, and did no disappoint. Curtis seemingly scored at will en route to a 41-7 victory. McKnight finished the night with five carries for 57 yards and a touchdown, and a reception for 14 yards and another score. Here is an update from Allen Wallace on Joe McKnight and his recruitment.

Orange Lutheran Shows off Top Talent

It is obvious that orange Lutheran is loaded with talent, but Saturday's 30-20 victory over Edison was a chance for the Lancers to showcase their abilities on a bigger stage. USC bound quarterback Aaron Corp earned MVP honors, finishing the night completing 12 of his 20 passes for 172 yards and two scores. Corp also added two scores from the ground, rushing for 33 yards on 10 carries. USC commitment Michael Reardon finished the night with 5 tackles and 2.5 sacks on defense. Junior tight end Blake Ayles finished the night with four receptions for 75 yards, adding a 50 yard score to put away Edison.
