Mountain View (Calif.) St. Francis tight end Rhett Ellison (6-5, 225), pulled an 11th hour switch and is heading south instead of east. "I committed to USC," Ellison told Scout.com.
Ellison had committed to Virginia Tech in July but had hoped to follow his father, former USC linebacker Riki Ellison, to Los Angeles.
The #3 ranked tight end in California, Ellison had 31 receptions in 2006 for 394 yards and two touchdowns and added 49 tackles, two sacks and an interception.
"USC is where my heart is," said Ellison.
A three-star prospect, Ellison is ranked 28th nationally at tight end.
