2008 Recruit Profile: Chris Polk

Running back/wide receiver Chris Polk (6-0, 200, 4.5) from Redlands East Valley (CA), told WeAreSC.com that USC has offered him a scholarship

"It happened on Tuesday," Polk said. "Pete Carroll called to offer the scholarship and it came out of nowhere. I was really happy about the offer and USC is a school I'm interested in."

Polk said he also has offers from Washington and Oregon.

After learning Polk's nickname is, "Baby Bush," we asked if him Reggie Bush was one of his favorite players, and if his game was similar. "Yes, he is one of my favorite players," Polk said. "I don't really like to talk about myself. I let my play do the talking. I more of quiet and humble type of person."

Last season Polk rushed for 384 yards on 62 carries and had 62 receptions for 1,167 yards, and a total of 23 touchdowns (11 rushing/12 receiving).

Back in May, Polk attended the Scout.com All- American Combine and was one of the top performers, despite only being a junior. He'll be back competing at this years Scout.com combine, which we're hoping will be at held at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. And that won't be the only combine Polk will showcase his talent.

"I'm going to attend every combine I can--basically," Polk said. Obviously, Polk isn't afraid of competition.

As was mentioned earlier, Polk has three scholarships. But he's also hearing from a number schools by mail, and said his top schools are USC, UCLA, Notre Dame and Michigan.
