Class of 2008 - California defense watch list

Signing Day for the Class of 2007 has come and gone and the Class of 2008 is now on the clock. Here is a look at the some of the top names on the defensive watch list for the state of California:

DEFENSIVE LINEMEN The defensive linemen in California will be strong in 2008, led by Horton and Casey. The Jackson twins are solid prospects and Jarrett may be the most versatile linemen in the state.

LINEBACKERS McDonald has prototypical linebacker size and excellent bloodlines while also comes from a fine football family, though he will likely play safety in college. Carter is a star in the City while McGee is one of the best from the Inland Empire. Amack, Andrews and Stuckey are the best in Northern California.

DEFENSIVE BACKS Moore is the best safety in the state and Golden is the best cornerback prospect in the state, and both come from programs that are visited yearly by colleges. Moutra could be a bigtime receiver but safety is probably his best spot and Woods also could play on offense. Leslie and Bland are both solid prospects in the secondary.
