"I like the team, I like the coaches a lot and I like the campus," Polk said. "I also like the atmosphere at USC. I wanted to commit to USC as soon as they offered me, But I had to persuade my mom--and that's what happened today. My mom was convinced USC was a good place for me.
He was asked if he planned to visit any other schools or if he was done with the recruiting process.
"I'm pretty much done," said Polk. "There's nowhere better than SC."
All of the early Trojan commits officially visited at some point during the recruiting process, but not al them attended a USC camp last June. Polk isn't afraid of competition.
"I'll still attend the camp at SC and compete," Polk said. "I'll be at that camp and other camps, and combines, competing."
Polk said one of the combines he'll attend will be the Scout.com All-American Combine on April 29 at the Home Depot Center.
