Casey get Trojan offer

Jurrell Casey (6-2, 245) from Long Beach Poly said USC offered him a scholarship today (March 9). He said the offer came from the Trojans' head coach, Pete Carroll.

Casey didn't go into detail, but he told us what he and Carroll basically talked about.

"He asked me how things have been going and he got to know me and stuff like that," Casey said.

USC has been a school Casey has had high interest in for quite some time, but there are two other schools he has a lot of interest in.

"I really like Oregon and LSU," Casey said.

Casey briefly commented on what he likes about USC, Oregon and LSU.

"USC has a good football program and I can see they work hard on the schooling," Casey said.

"I like the environment out there in Oregon. I like the weather there—I like the rain, a lot. My brother was going to go there, but he had a little incident.

"I like the way they hit out there at LSU. They're a good football team."

Although he has an offer from USC, a school he has high interest in, Casey said he won't commit early and more than likely commit after taking all of his official visits.

Casey said he would attend a regional camp at Veterans Stadium in April and the Scout.com All-American Combine at Home Depot Center on April 29.

During his junior season, Casey had 104 tackles, 10 sacks and six forced fumbles.
