Quoting Carroll

SCPlaybook.com caught up with Head Coach Pete Carroll after Wednesday's scrimmage to get his thoughts on the Trojans performance.

Carroll on Chauncey Washington:

"He banged up his shoulder, so we will find out how bad it is. Of course we are always concerned, we don't like anyone to get hurt."

Carroll on John David Booty:

"I thought John was stellar…He's just had a fantastic camp. He's thrown almost four hundred passes without throwing a pick in this camp. Not to jinx him at all, but that's a fantastic demonstration of his understanding of what's going on and his feel."

Carroll on Broderick Green:

"He's waiting for the clearinghouse. All his stuff is in there. I don't know why this taking so long…He's just waiting for the final word that he's ok."

Carroll on David Ausberry:

"David Ausberry looked pretty special a couple of times tonight…He's had a terrific camp and impressed us and really established himself as a guy that can be a starter for us."

Carroll on Sam Baker:

"Sam could have played tonight but it's better to wait for him. He wanted to play but we could hold him out, so we did. He will be fine for the opener."

Carroll on the cornerbacks:

"They have played great all camp. They have really stood up to the challenge and they have played the deep ball really well. They have been really aggressive."

Carroll on the running backs:

"I was really, really pleased with the way the running backs showed up tonight. I though Stafon had a terrific night and I really liked Allen Bradford. He ran hard and ran against the first group and I thought he really showed some great stuff."

Carroll on running back depth:

"Well everybody wasted all that ink on how many tailbacks we have….Unfortunately, we are pretty thin right now. Fortunately, we have some really talented kids. We'll find someone to play come game time, we'll be alright."
