USC Commitment - Marquis Simmons

Yesterday ScoutTV featured USC Commitment Maurice Simmons at linebacker, but he has a "little" brother that is every bit the prospect that he is. Marquis Simmons is committed to USC for the Class of 2009, and he teams with his brother to form arguably the best linebacker tandem in the country.

Senior Maurice Simmons and younger brother Marquis form one of the most impressive linebacker tandems in the entire country. Both are headed to USC, Maurice as a member of the Class of 2008 and Marquis in 2009.

Yesterday ScoutTV highlighted Maurice Simmons, and today we'll show you Marquis in his game from last Friday against Crenshaw.

While both Simmons' brothers are outstanding prospects at linebacker, their games are different. Marquis is the faster of the two, and is often turned loose on the opponents' defensive backfields.

While he's the younger brother, Marquis is the bigger of the two and is more suited to play inside on the college level.

That isn't to say that Marquis doesn't enjoy blitzing the offensive backfield, because he gets more than his share of tackles for loss. He's also more likely to make a play in pass coverage or laterally along the lines of scrimmage.

USC fans will get to see Maurice on campus in 2008, but Dominguez Head Coach Willie Donerson, will have the pleasure of getting Marquis on the field next year as well.

See why Marquis Simmons was such an early scholarship offer from the USC Trojans in this presentation by ScoutTV.
