Pete Carroll on the Oregon State game:
"Well it was a nice homecoming opportunity for us at the Coliseum tonight and we put an emphasis on this game for the seniors. They are starting to hit that stretch where we are down to a few more games for them. It is a big deal for us to be able to dedicate tonight to them. Tonight's game was clearly dominated by the defense. All week we thought we could pressure them and throughout the night, every guy at least once, came in on the rush. Just an overwhelming night by the defense. I felt our defense had been playing great all year, so games like this are going to pop up. We were really physical tonight."
Pete Carroll on the offense:
"Oregon State had a great defense. I think the top one we've seen this year and we did a nice job. John David (Booty) was not as sharp as we'd liked, probably a little rusty after three or four weeks off. John David (Booty) has to play better and we have to do a better job catching the ball. Patrick (Turner) ran a heck of a route on his touchdown and came down with a good catch."
Pete Carroll on the play of the defense:
"We really showed our great strength tonight. If we don't turn the ball over and we play defense like this, it is going to be tough to lose any game. This has really become a formula for us and we feel when we execute it we can beat anyone."
Pete Carroll on the play of Shareece Wright:
"Shareece (Wright) is just a really good football player. Now that he is finally healthy, he's been in there as our third cornerback and is really starting to hit his stride. He did a great job on that deep ball late in the game, knocking it down."
Pete Carroll on the play of Everson Griffen:
"Just a huge night for Everson (Griffen). He was blowing by his guy all night. We've been waiting a long time for this type of night from him. I mean this kid is talented and really fast. We will continue to call his number. His speed is so very valuable and he is definitely going to have many nights like this in the future for us."
Pete Carroll on getting pressure on Sean Canfield:
"This game was clearly dominated by what we did defensively. It was a fantastic night for the guys. This was an opportunity that we saw early in the week that we could pressure these guys and if we did we would have a chance to have a big night. I really just kept coming. A lot of guys shared in it. Everson had a huge night but a lot of guys contributed to that happening. The coverage guys on the deep end did a fantastic job tonight to keep them from throwing the football and getting rid of it on rhythm so the rush could get there. This doesn't surprise me. Our guys have been playing great ‘D' all year."
Pete Carroll on the team's focus:
"We vowed to come together here in the last four opportunities when we talked last week. We had a huge opportunity tonight and we came through with that one. We have an enormous chance to go up to Cal in a very difficult setting and do it again and we will just take it one step at a time."
Pete Carroll on what the offense needs to improve on:
"Well we have to throw and catch it better. It's simple. We didn't run the ball very well either. I think we ran for about 100 (yards) which isn't good enough for us."
