Quoting Carroll: Tuesday Practice

SCPlaybook's Kevin Carden caught up with Pete Carroll after Tuesday's practice to get his thoughts on Broderick Green's injured foot, playing California and much more.

Pete Carroll on this week's match up with California:

"This is a really fun match up. It's a big opportunity for us to go on the road. This is going to be a great challenge for us. We think they are a very good football team with a lot of really highlighted players. We know we are going to have to do really well in a lot of areas to play a good football game to get a win here. It's a great challenge for us; we came out and did what we needed to do today. We had a very good days work and we took the first step."

Pete Carroll on the key to Saturday's game:

"It will always be taking care of the football. We've got to do it better than they do and hopefully we will be able to get that done. They are too dynamic of an offense to give them ball in good field positions and expect to keep them from scoring the whole time. So we are going to have to take care of the football first and then hopefully we can get a couple and give ourselves a chance to get an edge on the game. Otherwise I think it is going to be very tight, very even."

Pete Carroll on John David Booty's finger:

"He threw the ball really well today. He's not worried about it at all anymore. I don't know if it's healed or not but he is over that factor right now. He's just confident in that so that's a real good sign for him and he can put that behind him now."

Pete Carroll on limiting penalties:

"Just continue to point them out and change the guys that keep doing them if that's the case. You just got to just keep drilling into each individual guy and if you got a guy that keeps making them you have to change the guy. It's funny the service team never gets penalized out here."

Pete Carroll on Stafon Johnson:

"This is the first two days that he has had some spring in his step and he feels good about it. It's behind him now. He was much, much freer to make his breaks and run hard and accelerate at the end of the runs. He feels good. He was out here bouncing around just feeling good about finally being healthy."

Pete Carroll on the status of Broderick Green's foot:

"His foot is sore. They are going to rest him for a little bit. He is seeing the doctors right now, tonight. Initial word is that he didn't re-break it or anything like that but he is sore. So they are just going to check him and determine what's the next step."
