The Trojans wrapped-up it's third and last practice from the Home Depot Center in Carson, California. Practice will resume on Howard Jones Field, Wednesday, December 26, after a three-day Christmas break.
World Class Facility a Well Kept Secret
Home Depot Center sits on the campus of California State University, Dominguez Hills. The stadium, which houses about 20,000 spectators, is a state-of-the-art facility. Along with great amenities, the facility is home to tennis courts, soccer and football fields, plenty of parking and easy freeway access.
Good News of the Day
There was concern yesterday, as linebacker Brian Cushing went down in pain after banging knees on the football field. Cushing was back on the field, with no after effects from the collision.
The Mad Dash Outta Here
Players rushed off the field after practice. With three days off and Christmas ahead, players dashed off after practice to make airplane flights or meet up with family. Here's hoping everyone makes his flight and are able to enjoy a Happy Holiday.
Faces in the Crowd
Sam "Bam" Cunningham attended practice, as did John Papadakis. Notre Dame High School (Sherman Oaks, CA) coach, Kevin Rooney was also in attendance. 2008 verbal commit, Wes Horton (defensive end, 6'5-1/2", 236, plays for Notre Dame High.
John David Booty again led the practice and the tempo was set at a good pace. Joe McKnight stood out, both running and catching the ball, but fumbled a punt reception. Stanley Havili had a good outing for the offense.
End of practice came with a little fun and excitement, pitting the scout offensive and defensive units. Aaron Corp led the first offense and Michael McDonald led the second. The team hollered and had a lot of fun in this session.
Merry Christmas to All, and to All a Good Night
Safe journeys to all those traveling this Holiday Season. When the Trojans return on Wednesday, the remaining practices are scheduled to be at Howard Jones–Brian Kennedy Field on campus.
