A Trojan Ready to Make His Commitment
Vontaze Burfict is a 6'2" 235 lbs. Middle linebacker from Corona Centennial High School in California. As a junior, Burfict recorded an impressive 162 tackles. Burfict told SCPlaybook that he is anxiously waiting to commit to the Trojans.
While USC's roster is currently loaded at the linebacker position, Keith Rivers has just graduated and Rey Maualuga, Brian Cushing and Kaluka Maiava all figure to graduate in 2008. This opens the door for up-and-coming recruits to make their mark on the great linebacker position at USC.

Asked about his junior season, Burfict said, "I had this year 162 tackles. I can also play quarterback."
When asked what position he is being recruited for he said, "USC is recruiting me as a middle linebacker."
What made him decide on the Trojans? Burfict reflected, "I grew up in Los Angeles and we were USC fans. My brother was a USC fan too. USC is a good school so I look forward to commit."
SCPlaybook asked Burfict about his academic standing, he answered, "This semester I should be doing well with my grades. I should be taking my SAT in March."
