Quoting Carroll: Thursday Practice

After struggling on Tuesday, USC's offense rebounded with a solid performance on Thursday. SCPlaybook was there and caught up with Pete Carroll after practice to get the coaches thoughts on Broderick Green, David Ausberry and much more.

Pete Carroll on the play of the quarterbacks:

"They did good. The second offensive line is taking a lot of pressure for them and it is making it hard for those guys, but it's forcing them to show us their resourcefulness. I thought Mitch (Mustain) stepped up beautifully today and hit a ball when a guy came free on a pass rush. It's forcing them to show us what they can do which is good. We are not really happy about the protection right now on the second group but that will get better in time."

Pete Carroll on David Ausberry:

"I thought David Ausberry was really obvious today. He made a bunch of plays. David is a monster out here, you can throw him the ball whether he is open or not. That is really the big guy style that we've seen over the years. He's really encouraging that he can make plays with guys hanging all over him and makes it look easy. He had a number of good plays today and we are going to keep feeding it to him and see how that all comes together."

Pete Carroll on Broderick Green:

"Well, we are just getting him going. I don't think we have enough info yet. I think it is going to take a couple of weeks to see where he fits into it but he is 235, 240 pounds or something. He is our biggest back and we want to see him run big."

Pete Carroll on Allen Bradford:

"He's started off beautifully in spring football. He's had a bunch of plays already. I think he has made progress from when the season ended. He's really been determined, he's really been studying and he has a real mindset that he wants to make a statement….He's a great kid and a great competitive kid. I am really excited about that because I like it when he is playing for us because he brings great attitude, his toughness is obvious."
