Another Trojan is Olympic Bound. Bibiana Candelas, instrumental to USC Women's Volleyball back-to-back National Championships, will compete for her native Mexico in the Beijing Summer Olympics.

Trojan Great Will Compete in Beach Volleyball

USC Alumnus, Bibiana Candelas (middle blocker)from Torreon, Mexico, will compete in Beach Volleyball for her native country.

Candelas is the third USC female volleyball player who will compete in the 2008 Olympics. Nicole Davis (U.S.) and Asia Kaczor (Poland) will be competing in women's indoor volleyball.

She is the 22nd woman volleyball player in USC history to compete in the Olympics. 19 have represented the U.S. and 3 have represented their native countries.

Bibiana Candelas was a three-time All-American from 2002-05 and a member of USC's back-to-back national championship squads in 2002 and 2003. Her enthusiasm and confidence on the court while playing for the Trojans was both infectious and entertaining for spectators.

Mayra Garcia will partner with Candelas in Beijing.
