Quoting Carroll: Wednesday Practice

SCPlaybook's Kevin Carden caught up with USC Head Coach Pete Carroll after Wednesday's practice to get the coaches thoughts on Mark Sanchez, Patrick Turner and much more.

Pete Carroll on Aaron Corp being the No.2 quarterback:

"They have been dead even the whole time. The edge that isn't very significant. We just have to pick up somebody that is going to go next. These guys have both worked very hard to play. Those two guys will continue to compete and battle through it."

Pete Carroll on Mark Sanchez's fiery attitude:

"I love that Mark is emotional. I love that he's energetic and upbeat. I like that part of him, so we don't want to diminish that. We just want to make sure that we do a nice job of tempering it so that it works for him."

Pete Carroll on Patrick Turner:

"I think he is really comfortable with everything. He understands the game. He understands what we are trying to do. He thinks like the coaches do. He makes decisions and adjustments like a guy that is a seasoned veteran. Hopefully it will show up in the games and we are going to utilize all of that."

Pete Carroll on David Buehler:

"We really do have an aspect of our kicking game that we haven't had for a while. We haven't thought of our guys as hitting 50-yard field goals but that has to enter into our thinking at times. We have another aspect to scoring points. We have had really consistent kickers over the years but he can really bomb the ball."
