Tony Hunt is a Trojan

Tony Hunt, a 6-1, 225 pound athlete from Alexandria (Va.) T.C. Williams tripped to USC over the weekend and committed to the Trojans before heading home. Hunt asked us in an interview yesterday to hold off on reporting the news until he could tell the other coaches who recruited him.

"Unfortunately my coach leaked it out," Hunt said. "I told most of the coaches who recruited me but not everyone. I felt I owed that to them and didn't want them to have to hear it second hand.

"As for my commitment to USC, I'm very excited about it. Like I said yesterday, I think it's a great fit for me. I love the football team there and the staff. I think the offense will be great to play in and they have a big need for running backs next year.

"I think my style will fit in well there. I'm a big back with speed who can run with power and they told me that's what they were looking for. Socially, I think it's a good fit as well. I like the city and it reminds me of home. It's a great place and the distance won't be a factor for me."

Hunt rushed for just over 1,000 yards with 12 touchdowns this season. He clocked a 4.56 in the 40 at the Nike Camp in Pennsylvania and committed to the Trojans over Maryland and Penn State.
