Lua to undergo surgery on knee

Freshman linebacker Oscar Lua suffered a torn ACL in his right knee at practice on Saturday and will undergo surgery.

Lua saw playing time this season as a true freshman while backing up senior Mike Pollard in the middle and also seeing action on special teams.

He is expected to have the surgery in the next few weeks with rehabilitation hoping to have him back on the field by next fall.  Oscar is the leading candidate to replace Pollard as the starting MLB and the Trojans also have verbal commits from two players, Drean Rucker and Thomas Williams, who can play in the middle.
