Fargas will not apply for sixth year

Trojan tailback Justin Fargas has elected not to apply for a sixth year of eligibility and will play his final USC game on January 2nd in the Orange Bowl.

USC senior tailback Justin Fargas has decided not to apply for a sixth year of eligiblity. Fargas will play in the Orange Bowl for the Trojans and then participate in the Senior Bowl, a prestigious game with NFL scouts.

Fargas became the starter at tailback midway through the season and ran for 593 yards with five touchdowns. He had sat out last season as a transfer from Michigan and was considering coming the request from the NCAA to return next year. The invitation to the Senior Bowl was too much to resist, however, especially since Fargas would likely not have heard a final decision on his appeal by the time the game was played.

His hard running style brought a boost of energy to the USC run game this season and he should have a bright future in the NFL.
