Sedric Ellis from Chino Senior High School committed to Pete Carroll and USC on Saturday along with Terrell Thomas at midfield at the Coliseum. Ellis decided the time was right and surprised his mother Jeannie with his decision that started a joyful celebration. Mrs Ellis was on her first official trip with her son who had also visited Oklahoma and LSU. She raved about the coaching staff, the other parents/recruits visiting, and the comfortability she felt in Sedric committing.
Ellis is good friends with current Trojan freshman wide receiver Chris McFoy who had been in Sedric's ear on occasion regarding USC. Sedric had been rumored to be favoring UCLA after the CaliFlorida game and has a visit scheduled to the Bruins for next weekend. However, it was made perfectly clear that Sedric is a solid verbal to USC no matter if further trips are taken or not, and is looking forward to wearing Cardinal and Gold the next four years. Sedric Ellis is currently ranked the #9 defensive tackle in the country by The Insiders and the #90 prospect overall. WeAreSC.com will have a further update from Sedric himself shortly.
