Trojans #1 in recruiting rankings

The latest Student Sports national recruiting rankings show the Trojans in the top spot once again as head coach Pete Carroll looks to bring in one of the finest classes we've seen in years.

Ratings are based upon player evaluations made at Nike Football Camps and from game film study, plus verbals, offers, trips and calls.

The STUDENT SPORTS RECRUITING RACE will be updated every Thursday until signing day (last week's ranking in parentheses).

Prospects in bold indicate Students Sports Preseason Hot 100 selections.

1. USC (1)
The Trojans tripped in two of their top remaining targets last weekend, Woodland Hills (Calif.) Taft receiver Steve Smith and Concord (Calif.) De La Salle running back Maurice Drew. Smith is leaning to USC and could commit to the Trojans any day now. Drew also has USC leading and it will be interesting to see what his reaction is following his trip to UCLA this weekend.
