Conner Preston is making a name for himself

Conner Preston isn't as quarterback many are familiar with, but you will be in time. He has eight touchdown passes in two games and leads the prolific Serra offense. Sure, he has targets like Robert Woods, George Farmer IV and Paul Richardson, but he still has to make the plays and throw the ball with accuracy to those exceptionally talented wide receivers. And he does.

Preston has been one of the most impressive quarterbacks in southern California the last two weeks and there's no reason to believe he won't be in the upcoming weeks, despite Serra playing tough opponents like Carson and Woodland Hills Taft.

Serra head coach Scott Altenberg has established Serra as one of the elite programs in southern California, and Preston has only added a strength at a position Serra hasn't been strong at the past few years.

We spoke with Preston after his extremely impressive performance against Redondo last Friday. He's an impressive football player, but also an impressive young man. Some juniors have scholarship offers at this point, but Preston does not. Expect that to change in the near future.

We'll have more from Preston and his teammates after Serra plays Taft in three weeks.
