We asked Loth what his impression of Coach Ruel is?
"He's a great coach," Loth said. "Some of the stuff he taught me (Rising Stars Camp) I had learned before, but some of the stuff I hadn't. He was telling me when defending the pass rush, instead of getting wider, get deeper and you can change direction, and not get beat inside. So, yeah, he's a great coach."
Recruiting has picked up the past couple of weeks for Loth and he added offers from Iowa State and Fresno State, to go with the offer he's had from UNLV for quite some time. He's also hearing from some Pac-10 schools.
"I've gotten letters from Washington, Arizona and quite a few from USC, UCLA and other Pac-10 schools," said Loth. "I did most of my talking with USC after the camp and I've talked to Coach Ruel from USC a lot. But I've been trying to get in touch with him for a few weeks and haven't heard back from him."
Loth is obviously interested in the schools that have offered him a scholarship, but he told us any school that offers him is going to get an equal look.
"I really don't have any preferences," said Loth when asked if he had more interest in some schools than others.
One preference Loth is starting to realize he might have, is he's beginning to think he'd like to have an opportunity to stay close to home. Offers from USC and UCLA could possibly be all it takes to ensure him staying in L.A.
"I say now that I don't have a preference to stay close to home, but offers from USC and UCLA would be seriously considered, just because it's here," said Loth. "If they were both to offer, it would be an interesting decision to make."
We'll have more from Loth in the upcoming weeks or as soon as he speaks to Coach Ruel.
